No–only hard-line Jewish sects would adhere to such extreme rules.

Remember, Judaism has its own "denominations," each of which has its own particular set of beliefs. Were Granny Jewish, she’d be Reform, natch.

Just the light bulb in the refrigerator gets unscrewed. They figured out how to use compressed air for a lot of tools that ordinarily run on batteries.

No.. The Sabbath is a day of rest, meaning that they shouldn’t work. I’m pretty sure you watch telly to rest and not to work. It’s pretty obvious what the Sabbath is and I’m sure you know exactly what it means, so do something productive rather than make fun of people’s beliefs.

Only the Orthodox Jews observe such laws that relate to working on the sabbath. Most Jews are not Orthodox.

I am a Christian Jew and God told me how to keep the Sabbath because I asked. He said:Leslie you can do what ever you want to do on the Sabbath as long as it does not take away from your mind what this Day stands for. I made a list of all the distractions that would rob me of this Blessed Day and TV was one of them. All work in the house and thinking about all the things I have to do tomorrow. I keep the Sabbath and I look so forward to it each week. It is such a blessing for me that I have been actually told by God not to worry about a thing this day or be concerned about ones life and its difficulties and this day is a real rest for me Spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and I thank God Every week for this gift. Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.. Sabbath is not a burden like the old Jews made it but Our Messiah fixed everything when He came and cleared up our minds on how to think Spiritually…..THANK YOU JESUS !
