Please define what exactly is considered jewish music? is it music by a jew? or is it have to have a certain style? Does it have to be only hebrew lyrics?

I would say that music written or compsed by a Jew does not make it Jewish music. That makes it plainly music made by a Jew. Jewish music would be music relating to the religion. An example of a group that produces jewish music is the chevra. http://www.thechevra.com/ is their website

Jewish music is music made by Jews that is about Jewish subjects. It can be similar in style to just about any type of music. It very often contains Hebrew lyrics or Hebrew words, but there are also song entirely in English. It is very popular to take a prayer or verse from the Hebrew bible and put music to it. Hasidic music is a form of Jewish music that is done by the ultra-orthodox. Jewish music by Orthodox Jews does not have women singing or if it does that music is strictly for women only.
