My wife and I have done Channukah a few times and it gets REALLY expensive for us. I don’t think it’s a good holiday for spendy people. Next year I’
m going to dedicate myself more fully to FESTIVUS.

I dated a Jewish guy for a while, and his Hanukkah presents always looked like someone went through the clearance rack at TJ Maxx. The gift-giving part of Hanukkah is pretty recent.

No, don’t Christian parents give their kids more than one gift for Christmas?

I like to give socks, underwear, pants, shirts, shoes, books, and gelt. The fancy stuff comes from other relatives.

…most the Jewish people I know just get gifts/money on the last day, and less than most Christmas-celebrators at that.

Dollar store? Remember, it is not the price, it is the love, it is the love of God and of His Son Jesus who died on the Cross for your and my sins. Be blessed my friend, be blessed.

maybe in the USA they do it so the kids won’t feel bad about Christmas but here in Israel :/

my husband and i only keep the holy days as leviticus 23 requires because we live in north america.

we are not ungrateful for all the blessings Yah has given us but we can see no reason to do more than commanded just in case its not approved from Heaven.

for some strange reason it would appear that lighting the house up like a catholic x mass seems like we are trying to appear more like them instead of like jews ?
