i don’t know where people pulled that one off , i don’t know any Jewish family that gives 8 presents , the old give the young kids money but not present’s.
maybe in the USA they do it so the kids won’t feel bad about Christmas but here in Israel :/ References :
my husband and i only keep the holy days as leviticus 23 requires because we live in north america.
we are not ungrateful for all the blessings Yah has given us but we can see no reason to do more than commanded just in case its not approved from Heaven.
for some strange reason it would appear that lighting the house up like a catholic x mass seems like we are trying to appear more like them instead of like jews ? References :

I like to give socks, underwear, pants, shirts, shoes, books, and gelt. The fancy stuff comes from other relatives.
