I’ve heard the most wonderful, lively songs at Jewish gatherings (from open ceremonies and on TV). There must be compilations of this music on CD’s and such for purchase. What are some titles of albums, and what are some search terms I can use to find albums?
Search "jewish music".
Should get you there.
"Klezmer" will, as well.
Try going to a judaica catalog, online, like thejewishsource.com. They have a music section.
Look for music played at weddings and Bar Mitzvahs.
If Hava Nagila and Tzena Tzena are on it, it’s probably a good starter CD.

Can you provide a link to your answer, please?
None, actually, if it were a ‘traditional Jewish funeral’. I know that’s the phrase the papers are using, but it seems to be more of an adaptation. The family is sitting shiva for two days instead of seven, her body was cremated and a secular song was used. So it’s hard to guess what elements of a traditional service they may have included.
AFAIK, the mourners’ kaddish is spoken rather than chanted.
Emil Zrihan & Israel Andalusian Orchestra.
From the disc – “Ashkelon” (mixed arabic & hebrew andalusian music)
Track 8 – Lamoledet shuvi roni (to the homeland return and rejoice)

I was practicing klezmer the other day because I had to perform the piece in a wedding, but one of my Jewish friends heard me and laughed.
She said "you’re not even Jewish. Why are you playing klezmer?"
I thought it was strange, and searched some background on klezmer. Sure enough, I was told that klezmer is "very rare" among non-Jewish. Am I looked down upon by other Jewish if I play klezmer without conjunction of being Jewish?
Oh – don´t say that – I love jewish music, too!
I love playing Spanish Pasadobles and I´m not Spanish. Ignore people who laugh at you – I do.
