I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.

1. 6-letter word, last letter is "c." Images that represent symbols or ideas.

2. 7-letter word, second letter is "e," sixth letter is "s." Pounded out of the back of a metal sheet.

3. 8-letter word, fourth letter is "i." A method of supporting a round dome. Diagonal lintels supported on bracket-like constructions placed across the walls’ upper corners.

4. 8-letter word, first letter is "c," sixth letter is "o." Enamel, is produced by soldiering fine wires in the desired pattern to a metal plate and then filling the cells with powdered colored glass. (I already tried "cloisons," but that was the answer to a different question.)

5. 5-letter word, first letter is "i." An image in any material representing a sacred figure or event in the Byzantine, and later the Orthodox, Church. Icons were respected by the faithful, who believed them to have miraculous powers to transmit messages to God. (I think this one might be "idols," but I’m not sure.)

Some of these works have ended up in museums, and because evidence of previous ownership is lacking, they have not been returned. Who should have ownership of these works? Should they be returned without proper documentation?

Obviously the original owners should have them, but only if they can prove it.

Mattapan26’s answer is one of the most ignorant answers I have ever read on Yahoo Answers. Poland was the first country attacked by nazi Germany. Polish army was the first army that fought nazis in the World War II. Poland had one of the biggest resistance movements in the whole nazi occupied Europe, far more succesful than French or Yugoslav. Poles staged probably the most heroic act of resistance against the German occupation – Warsaw Uprising of 1944, after which about 85% of the city was razed to the ground. During the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising Polish Home Army and People’s Guard supported the uprising smuggling weapons and attacking German units outside of the ghetto. Anyone that survived the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising survived only because of the help of the Polish resistance. It was Polish soldier and resistance fighter Jan Karski who reported to the Allies, Polish government in exile and F. D. Roosevelt on the situation in German occupied Poland, the Holocaust and destruction of the Warsaw Ghetto. What exactly American Jews did to help the European Jews? Suggesting that Poles collaborated with Germans in destruction of European Jewry or were indifferent towards the Polish Jews is simply untrue. Remember that about 18-20% of the population of Poland were killed during the war. Apart from the Polish Jews nearly three millions of Slavic Poles died (one million in concentration camps). First prisoners of Auschwitz were Poles, not Jews, so suggesting that Poles were "not disturbed" is stupid and ignorant.

I’m an incoming 1st year registering for classes today and I wanna learn about jewish traditions but I’m worried that I will be disliked by other students taking the course (who will prob. be jewish) bc of the way I look. I am a hispanic atheist with 3 face piercings, a tattoo and dyed red hair. I really don’t wish to disrespect anybody and I’m wondering if Jewish people typically dislike my look.

It’s a private liberal arts college btw.

I’m Jewish, and I’m frankly a little offended that you think anyone would dislike you solely on the basis of "your look." They might be curious about why you’re taking the class, but when you belong to a religious tradition that’s endured discrimination for millenia, you tend to make an effort not to inflict that sort of thing on other people.
