I’m interested in more info about my Jewish brethren and sisters who decided to follow Yeshua Ha Mashiach[Jesus the Messiah], I only got one legit site…
http://levitt.com/

Hi Im Jewish and dont believe that Jesus was the Messiah. There have been many who have claimed to be the Messiah in history besides Jesus.

The whole idea of the Trinity and the birth of Jesus being insemminated by G-d smacks of idolatry and blasphemy. One reason that Christinity got started was because the Romans were transitioning from pagan worship to the belief in the one G-d. The problem is that no Roman would ever be willing to accept the version of worship practiced by the semitic people who they conquered.

Now let me give you an alternative theory about Jesus birth. I hope no Christians riot and burn down the cities like those idiot Muslims and their child pedophile prophet Mohammed.

The Roman Legion occupied Palestine at the time of Jesus birth. Mary was a young girl. Now I think soldiers often get in trouble in the local area where they are stationed and perhaps one enticed Mary into having sex or perhaps raped her. (The exception to the above statement is our brave soldiers fighting for us in Iraq, they are perfect gentlemen and the cream of the crop in America). Anyway back to the Romans who were a different breed. So Mary gets pregnant and Joseph who perhaps wanted her anyway because she was young and pretty agrees to marry her. Meanwhile the other people start to doubt that she was pregnant with Joseph’s baby, so they invent a story that she was insemminated by G-d because she’s carrying the future Messiah. The desire for the coming of the Messiah has always been with the Jews so its easy to see how they could be convinced.

Is it appropriate for someone to give a Jewish child a Christmas gift?

I have known this Jewish girl for many many years. We lost touch and now she has a small child. We don’t see each other often but she will be around for the holidays. Religion has never been any kind of issue before but her son told me he would like a certain toy. I bought the toy and wrapped it as a Christmas present. My dad (Italian Catholic) said it is inappropriate yet my neighbor (Jewish American) said it is fine, Does anyone know the proper proticall for this? Please help!

Re wrap in gray or blue paper and call it a Hanukkah present Hanukkah starts next week giving a gift is fine just not a Christmas gift

Why is it that people don’t wear white in Israel for the Jewish Holidays?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2010 and filed under Jewish Holidays | 5 Comments »

I remeber when I was younger we used to dress in white on High Holidays. I don’t see that anymore. Did the Rabbis come up with a new rule about that?

Ashkenazi Jews do wear white- for many that means wearing a white kittel over there other clothing.

Why are hundreds of horror movies about Christian themes, but hardly any about Jewish or Buddhist themes?

Does it tell us something about those religions?

fear based belief systems provide the best fodder for horror stories

What’s the name of that one Art movie?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2010 and filed under Jewish Art | 3 Comments »

The movie I’m struggling to identify deals with pre-WW2 Germany, and chronologues a supposed interplay between a young Adolf Hitler and an influential jewish art dealer who had been encouraging Hitler’s talent on the canvas. I think the film got released in the last 10 years or so, and there’s probably one big name actor in it, but I can’t for the life of me remember what the title is! Anyone help?

It’s called ‘Max’ and stars John Cusack.

My good friend, who has recently converted to Judaism, is going away to college in the fall. I want to get him a Judaic gift but I do not know much about the religion/culture. I need help with some ideas. Please. :)
Btw he already bought a mezuza. (but thank you to those who suggested that)

A kippah or yarmulke. You can find them in any synagogue gift shop. Call ahead to find out when the gift shop is open.

What is the problem with Christians celebrating Jewish holidays?

Posted by admin on August 28th, 2010 and filed under Jewish Holidays | 9 Comments »

I see no problem in it, as a Christian I find it interesting to see the roots of where and how it began and what it has evolved into.

Yeshua was a Torah-observant Jew. When He walked the earth, there was no such thing as Christianity or the New Testament. He lived and taught Torah. Many Christians are learning about their Hebrew roots and turning back to the Jewish Messiah and studying Torah. It’s a blessing that was hidden in plain sight for nearly 2,000 years because of Constantine. Yeshua never told His disciples to start a new religion, He told them to spread the Good News of the Messiah.

I joyfully celebrated Rosh Hashana last night and today because it is a High Holy Day and a Shabbat to be observed. My Messiah observed it and I do as well.
